Description

Potato soup with croutons

Ingredients

  • Potato 0 lbs
  • Butter 2 spoons
  • Leek 2 pieces
  • Garlic 3 cloves
  • Milk 1 glass
  • Chicken Broth 35 oz
  • Bay leaf 2 pieces
  • Cream 5 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Melt the butter in a large pot. Add the finely chopped onion, season with salt and pepper, and sauté, stirring constantly, until the onion is translucent. Add the minced garlic and cook for another 2 minutes. Peel, wash, and dice the potatoes into small cubes.

Step 2

Place the potatoes in a pot with the onions and garlic, pour in the broth, and add the bay leaf. Bring to a boil, cover with a lid, reduce the heat to medium, and cook until the potatoes begin to soften, about 25 to 30 minutes. Remove the bay leaf from the pot.

Step 3

Use a blender to puree the soup. Then add warm milk and cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Step 4

Ladle the potato soup into bowls, garnish with fresh herbs, and serve with croutons.
