Portuguese Cake with Maria Cookies
Baking and Desserts • Author's
Description
I use Portuguese Maria cookies. In the U.S., this cookie is quite different. I think it should be just as delicious with Jubilee cookies!
Ingredients
- Whole egg 2 pieces
- Sugar 5 oz
- Wheat Flour 0 oz
- Milk 15 fl oz
- Freshly brewed green tea 0 fl oz
- Cookie 10 oz
- Butter 5 oz
- Brandy 1 tablespoon
- Walnuts to taste
- Powdered Sugar 2 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Mix the yolk well with the sugar, add the flour, and gradually add 30 g of warm coffee.
Step 2
Add the resulting mixture to 260 ml of warm milk. Heat over low heat until thickened.
Step 3
In a separate bowl, beat the butter with 2 tablespoons of powdered sugar until creamy.
Step 4
Add the butter mixture and brandy to the cooled cream.
Step 5
In a bowl, mix 140 ml of milk and 20 g of coffee. Dip the cookies into the bowl until soft (very carefully, so as not to over-soak them) and layer them alternately with the cream. The last layer should be cream.
Step 6
Sprinkle walnuts on top.
