Ingredients
- Poppy seed paste 5 oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Vanilla Pod 1 piece
- Milk 5 fl oz
- Butter 5 oz
- Sour Cream 10 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Grind the poppy seeds in a coffee grinder or mortar, split the vanilla pod lengthwise, and scrape out the seeds.
Step 2
Pour 125 ml of milk into a saucepan, add half of the sugar, bring to a boil, stirring until the sugar is completely dissolved; add the poppy seeds and simmer gently over low heat for 10 minutes; remove from heat.
Step 3
Mix the sour cream, remaining sugar, vanilla seeds, and flour from the small packet until smooth.
Step 4
Combine the flour from the large packet, butter, a pinch of salt, mix, add 3 tablespoons of water, and knead the dough.
Step 5
Place the dough in a baking dish, create edges, and prick the entire surface of the dough with a fork; bake in a preheated oven at 390°F for 20 minutes.
Step 6
Spread the cooked poppy seeds over the crust, pour the sour cream mixture on top, and bake in the oven at 355°F for 35 minutes.
Step 7
Serve hot.
