Plum Strudel

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour 2 cups
  • Sugar ½ cup
  • Butter 0 oz
  • Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
  • Salt a pinch
  • Chopped almonds 5 oz
  • Farm fresh eggs 3 pieces
  • Dried Yellow Plums 10 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Combine flour, ¼ cup of sugar, butter, baking powder, and a pinch of salt in a food processor. Add 2 eggs and ¼ cup of ice water. Knead the dough, wrap it in plastic wrap, and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Step 2

Chop the toasted walnuts and remaining sugar in a food processor.

Step 3

Remove the plums from the syrup and puree them with a blender.

Step 4

Preheat the oven to 355°F. Cut the dough into three pieces, rolling each piece into a rectangle measuring 18x28 cm (for the baking dish).

Step 5

Grease the baking dish with butter and place the first sheet of dough at the bottom. Spread half of the plum puree on top and sprinkle with ⅓ of the walnuts mixed with sugar. Place the second rectangle on top. Spread the remaining plum puree and half of the remaining walnuts on it. Finally, place the last rectangle of dough on top, prick it with a fork, brush with beaten egg, and sprinkle with the remaining walnuts.

Step 6

Bake until golden brown for 25–30 minutes.
