
Plum Compote with Rum

This recipe is designed for a three-liter jar.
Ingredients
- Plums 1½ kg
- Sugar 15 oz
- Rum 5 fl oz
- Vanilla salt 0 oz
- Water 0 qt
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients. Sterilize the jar over steam for 15 to 20 minutes.
Step 2
Wash the plums and cut them in half.
Step 3
Remove the pits.
Step 4
Place the plums in a jar.
Step 5
Boil water. Pour the boiling water into the jar and let it sit for 10 minutes.
Step 6
Pour the water from the jar into the pot.
Step 7
Add both types of sugar and cook until dissolved.
Step 8
Pour rum over the plums in the jar, then fill the jar to the top with hot syrup.
Step 9
Seal the jar, turn it upside down, wrap it in a blanket, and let it cool completely.
Step 10
Flip it over and store it.
