Description

Plum Cobbler with Honey

Ingredients

  • Dried Yellow Plums 30 oz
  • Honey 1 tablespoon
  • Pears 2 pieces
  • Baking Powder 10 oz
  • Brown Sugar 2 tablespoons
  • Cardamom ½ teaspoon
  • Butter 0 oz
  • Milk 4 tablespoons

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 390°F. Grease a round pie dish with butter. Drain the plums, reserving 185 ml of syrup. In a saucepan, combine the syrup, honey, and the peeled and chopped pears. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and cook for 8 minutes until softened. Add the plums.

Step 2

Sift the flour, 1 tablespoon of sugar, half of the cardamom, and a pinch of salt into a bowl. Add the finely chopped butter and mix well with your hands. Add 3 tablespoons of milk and knead until smooth, adding more milk if necessary. Form a ball and roll it out to a thickness of 1 cm, then cut out circles with a diameter of 4 cm.

Step 3

Transfer the hot fruit to the dish, then place the dough circles on top, arranging them closer to the edges and leaving the center open. Brush the dough with milk. Mix the remaining sugar and cardamom and sprinkle it over the dough.

Step 4

Place the dish on a baking sheet and bake for 30 minutes until the dough is golden brown.
