Ingredients

  • Kefir 15 fl oz
  • Chicken Egg 3 pieces
  • Baking Powder ½ teaspoon
  • Wheat Flour 3 cups
  • Canned Mackerel in Oil 2 cans
  • Potato 2 pieces
  • Dill 1 bunch
  • Salt ½ teaspoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Beat 3 eggs with salt, pour in a cup of kefir, and mix well.

Step 2

Mix the baking powder into the flour and add it to the batter. Stir well to avoid lumps. The batter should be somewhat liquid and stretchy, like condensed milk.

Step 3

Peel the potatoes and cut them into thin strips.

Step 4

Place the fish on a plate and mash it with a fork.

Step 5

Pour 2/3 of the batter into a greased baking dish. Evenly distribute the potatoes on top, do not press them down or submerge them in the batter, let them lay as they will. Season with salt and pepper to taste, and add the chopped dill.

Step 6

Add the fish. Carefully distribute it evenly with a fork.

Step 7

Pour the remaining batter over the top, filling in any gaps with a spoon.

Step 8

Place the pie in a preheated oven at 355°F for 30 minutes.

Step 9

When the pie is evenly browned, remove it from the oven and let it cool for 5 minutes. Brush the top with a piece of butter. Enjoy your meal!
