Ingredients

  • Shortcrust Cake Mix 10 oz
  • Farm fresh eggs 3 pieces
  • Brown Sugar ½ cup
  • Butter 3 tablespoons
  • Dark rice syrup ¾ cup
  • Bourbon 2 tablespoons
  • Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
  • Ocean salt ¼ teaspoon
  • Pecan 2 cups

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Roll out the pastry and place it in a shallow round springform pan. Trim the excess around the edges, press lightly, and refrigerate for 30 minutes.

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 375°F. Place a sheet of foil over the pastry and fill it with beans or grains. Bake in the oven for 30 minutes, then remove the foil and grains and bake for another 10 minutes.

Step 3

Meanwhile, beat the eggs and sugar with a mixer. Stir in the corn syrup, then the softened butter, bourbon, vanilla, and salt. Mix well and add the halved pecans.

Step 4

Pour the filling onto the hot pastry and bake in the oven for 25 minutes. Cool for 1 hour and transfer to a serving plate. Serve warm, slightly reheated.
