Pears with Bay Leaf and Cherry

You can substitute the cherry with dried cranberries.
Ingredients
- Pears 4 pieces
- Dry White Wine 15 fl oz
- Ground dried cherries 5 oz
- Sugar 0 oz
- Bay leaf 8 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Peel the pears, cut them in half lengthwise, and remove the core. Then cut them in half again lengthwise.
Step 2
Place the pears in a saucepan, add the wine, cherry, sugar, and bay leaves. Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, cover, and simmer until the pears are tender, about 7–10 minutes.
Step 3
Transfer to serving bowls, removing the bay leaves.
Step 4
Return the saucepan with the syrup to the heat and cook over medium heat until thickened and reduced to 120 ml, about 12 minutes. Drizzle over the pears.
