Ingredients
- Red Grape Juice 15 fl oz
- Pears 5 pieces
- Cinnamon 5 pieces
- Lemon 1 piece
- Sugar 5 oz
- Vanilla salt 0 oz
- Ground clove 1 teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Pour the wine into a saucepan, add sugar, vanilla sugar, lemon cut into wedges, cinnamon sticks, and cloves.
Step 2
Peel the pears (leaving the stems on is preferable), place them whole into the saucepan, and set over medium heat to cook.
Step 3
Bring to a boil, reduce the heat, and simmer for 45–60 minutes.
Step 4
Remove the pears, and let the syrup sit for another 30 minutes.
Step 5
Serve the dessert with sour cream, mascarpone cheese, or ice cream, drizzled with the warm syrup.
