Description

Pear Tarte Tatin

Ingredients

  • Pears 2 pieces
  • Butter 5 oz
  • Wheat Flour 5 oz
  • Salt a pinch
  • Water 5 tablespoons
  • Brown Sugar 5 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Start with the dough; for it, we need to place 100 g of butter and 200 g of flour in a food processor, sprinkle with a pinch of salt, and chop until it resembles coarse crumbs. Add 5 tablespoons of ice water and knead until it starts to come together.

Step 2

Quickly roll out the dough on a floured piece of parchment paper. Roll it up and place it in the refrigerator for half an hour.

Step 3

Meanwhile, melt 25 g of butter directly in the baking dish. Add 100 g of sugar and, without stirring, wait until the mixture starts to brown. Remove from heat, mix evenly, and let the caramel cool slightly.

Step 4

Arrange beautifully sliced pear wedges on top.

Step 5

Next, cover the dish with the dough (right over the pears) and place it in the preheated oven (390°F) for 30 minutes.

Step 6

Remove and flip it over when the syrup stops bubbling. Serve with ice cream and mint.
