Pear Tart on Chocolate-Almond Crust
Ingredients
- Salted Butter 8 tablespoons
- Chopped almonds 1 cup
- Sugar ¾ cup
- Large eggs 3 pieces
- Cocoa Powder 0.3 cups
- Vanilla extract 1 teaspoon
- Salt ½ teaspoon
- Bartlett Pear 3 pieces
- Lemon ½ piece
- Fruit Jelly 2 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 355°F. Grease a 23 cm round springform pan with unsalted butter.
Step 2
In a food processor, combine the almonds and sugar and process until finely ground. Add the unsalted butter at room temperature, eggs, cocoa powder, and vanilla. Mix well again. Pour the mixture into the pan and spread it evenly across the bottom and sides.
Step 3
Peel the pears and remove the cores, then slice them thinly. Drizzle with lemon juice and toss to prevent browning. Arrange the pear slices in a circle on top of the chocolate mixture without pressing down.
Step 4
Place the pan on a baking sheet and bake until done for 40–50 minutes. Then cool in the pan.
Step 5
In a saucepan, heat the apple jelly and brush it over the pears. Let it sit for 20 minutes and then remove from the pan.
