Pear Pie Without Eggs
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 1½ cups
- Sugar ½ cup
- Butter 5 oz
- Baking Powder ½ teaspoon
- Pears 4 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Mix the flour, sugar, and baking powder.
Step 2
Add the butter and then crumble the mixture with your hands until it resembles coarse crumbs.
Step 3
Place the resulting semi-dry mixture into a greased baking dish, form small edges, and press everything down.
Step 4
Wash the pears and slice them lengthwise. Choose sweet, juicy varieties of pears; however, if you have difficulty with this, it's not a problem. Slice the pears and then caramelize them for about 3 minutes (melt a bit of butter in a pan, gently sauté the pear slices, adding honey or sugar and a little cinnamon to taste, and voilà).
Step 5
Arrange the pears beautifully on top of the formed base of the future pie. Optionally, you can sprinkle cinnamon and vanilla sugar on top according to your taste preferences.
Step 6
Bake at 340°F for 30–40 minutes.
