Pear Jam with Poppy Seeds
Preserves • European
Description
Making jam is actually very simple. The only thing is, it’s not quick, as it requires three rounds of boiling (if you want a long-lasting result, not just a quick five-minute jam). It’s best to make it for the first time in the morning, let it cool, and repeat the boiling in the evening, leaving it to cool overnight. In the morning, bring it to a boil for the third time and jar it. Sterilizing jars is easy: place them in the microwave, filling them one-third with water, and put the lids in a bowl of water, also bringing it to a boil in the microwave. 3–5 minutes on high power is sufficient. Be careful when removing the jars and lids: they are very hot.
