Pear and Walnut Cake
Ingredients
- All-purpose flour ½ teaspoon
- Pears 3 pieces
- Butter 5 oz
- Brown Sugar 5 oz
- Eggs 3 pieces
- Baking Powder 1 teaspoon
- Cinnamon ½ teaspoon
- Milk 0 fl oz
- Honey 2 tablespoons
- Lemon Juice 2 tablespoons
- Walnuts 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Take the butter out of the refrigerator a few hours before cooking (it should soften).
Step 2
Wash the pears and peel them, removing the seeds.
Step 3
Slice one and a half pears into wedges about half a centimeter thick. Chop the remaining pears into smaller pieces. Drizzle everything with lemon juice.
Step 4
Chop the walnuts into crumbs.
Step 5
Beat the butter and sugar together with a mixer until smooth for a few minutes.
Step 6
Add the eggs one at a time to the butter mixture, beating for a minute after each addition.
Step 7
Mix the flour, cinnamon, and baking powder, and gradually fold into the egg mixture along with the milk.
Step 8
Add the pear pieces to the batter.
Step 9
Preheat the oven to 355°F.
Step 10
Pour the batter into a greased and floured rectangular baking pan (24-26 cm long) and smooth it out. Place the pear wedges on top and gently press them into the batter.
Step 11
Bake the cake for about an hour, checking for doneness with a wooden stick.
Step 12
When the cake is ready, brush it with honey and leave it in the turned-off but warm oven for about 10 minutes.
