Pear-Almond Cake
Baking and Desserts • Italian
Description
To be honest, I thought that my cake would take longer than 1 hour to bake, but it turned out the opposite — the cake was ready in 40 minutes — a toothpick came out dry. Optionally, you can drizzle the cake with melted chocolate or decorate it with pear slices. At first glance, the cake may seem complicated, but during the process, you realize that it is very easy and simple.
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Baking Powder 0 oz
- Vegetable Oil 10 fl oz
- Sugar 10 oz
- Vanillin a pinch
- Farm fresh eggs 2 pieces
- Salt 1 teaspoon
- Chopped almonds to taste
- Cocoa Powder 0 oz
- Boiling water 10 fl oz
- Pears 2 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Pour boiling water over the cocoa powder and let it sit for 10–15 minutes (I will say right away — I used Nesquik instead of cocoa, as it is sweet on its own, so I used less sugar).
Step 2
In a separate bowl, mix the flour, salt, and baking powder.
Step 3
Beat the oil with the sugar and vanillin for a couple of minutes.
Step 4
Add the eggs and beat again at maximum speed until smooth.
Step 5
Add half of the flour and mix with a mixer until smooth.
Step 6
Pour in the cocoa mixture and beat.
Step 7
Add the remaining flour and mix thoroughly.
Step 8
Add the pear, diced, and almonds, mix, and pour into a greased baking pan.
Step 9
Bake the cake in a preheated oven at 390°F for 1 hour, until a toothpick comes out dry. Let it cool and then serve.
