Peach Jam with Almonds and Lemon
Ingredients
- Donut Peaches 5 lbs
- Lemon 2 pieces
- Sugar 25 oz
- Chopped almonds 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Remove the pit from the peaches, slice them (you can cut them in half - peaches and apricots) and place them in a pot, squeezing the lemon juice into it (for those who are afraid it will be too sour, you can use half orange juice and half lemon juice). Stir and place on high heat, covering with a lid.
Step 2
When the peaches come to a boil, reduce the temperature to medium and cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Step 3
Remove from heat and blend into a puree directly in the pot using a blender. If you want the jam to be thicker, drain some syrup before blending.
Step 4
Add the sugar, stir, and cook for another hour on medium heat, covering with a lid and stirring occasionally to prevent burning. Add the nuts 15 minutes before the end.
Step 5
Meanwhile, sterilize the jars and lids.
Step 6
Pour the hot jam into the jars.
