Peach and Blackberry Dessert with Basil Syrup
Ingredients
- Sugar ¼ cup
- Dry White Wine 3 tablespoons
- Basil 3 sprigs
- Orange zest 2 pieces
- Donut Peaches 4 pieces
- Serviceberries 5 oz
- Meyer Lemon Juice 1 tablespoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a saucepan, combine sugar and wine. Bring to a boil, remove from heat, add the basil sprigs, cover, and let sit for 30 minutes.
Step 2
Strain the syrup into a bowl, pressing out all the juice from the basil.
Step 3
Meanwhile, dip the peaches in boiling water for 30–40 seconds, then peel them (like tomatoes) and cut into small segments. Transfer to the syrup.
Step 4
Add the blackberries and lemon juice to the peaches. Mix and serve, garnished with basil sprigs.
