Baking and Desserts • Australian
Description
Pavlova, a meringue dessert, was created either in Australia or New Zealand in honor of Anna Pavlova and has since spread throughout the world.
Ingredients
- Egg white 4 pieces
- Salt a pinch
- Fine white sugar 10 oz
- Corn Starch 1 tablespoon
- Vinegar essence ½ spoons
- Vanilla Pod 1 piece
- 10% cream 10 fl oz
- Powdered Sugar 3 spoons
- Strawberry 5 oz
- Kiwi 2 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Beat the room temperature egg whites with a pinch of salt using a mixer on medium speed until soft peaks form.
Step 3
Without stopping the mixer, gradually add the sugar to the egg whites, switch the mixer to the highest speed, and whip until stiff peaks form. The mixture will become glossier and more sticky.
Step 4
Add the vinegar and mix gently on the lowest speed for just three turns of the mixer.
Step 5
Sift the cornstarch over the whipped egg whites and gently fold it in with a spatula, taking care not to deflate the airy texture of the meringue.
Step 6
Transfer the meringue onto parchment paper, shaping it as desired. Create a slight indentation in the center of the meringue.
Step 7
Place in a preheated oven at 390°F, then immediately reduce the temperature to 120 degrees. Bake for one and a half hours. Then remove from the oven and let cool.
Step 8
Whip the cream with powdered sugar and vanilla seeds until soft peaks form.
Step 9
Transfer the cooled meringue to a serving plate, then spread the whipped cream over the meringue.
Step 10
Garnish with strawberries and kiwi.
