Description
Pastry with Whipped Cream and Custard
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 1 cup
- Butter 5 oz
- Farm fresh eggs 5 pieces
- Water 1 cup
- Salt ¼ teaspoon
- Sugar 2½ tablespoons
- Cream 1 cup
- Vanillin ¼ teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Pour a cup of water into a saucepan, add butter, salt, and place it on the heat. Once the water boils, add all the flour at once, stir, and cook over low heat for 2–3 minutes, stirring. Then remove the saucepan from the heat and add the eggs one at a time, mixing thoroughly; as soon as the dough starts to stretch, stop adding eggs, shape the dough into small buns, placing them on a baking sheet lightly greased with butter, spaced 3.5–4 cm apart.
Step 2
To bake, place the sheet in a hot oven for 15–20 minutes, and as soon as the buns turn golden and increase in size, reduce the heat in the oven without removing the buns, and continue baking until done.
Step 3
Once the buns are ready, cut them lengthwise on one side, and, slightly opening them, fill the center with cream whipped with sugar and vanillin or liqueur. They can also be filled with custard or buttercream. Then sprinkle with powdered sugar, place on a plate, and serve.
