Description
Panna cotta, which translates from Italian as 'cooked cream', is a simple beauty hailing from Italy's Emilia-Romagna region.
Ingredients
- 33% Cream 15 fl oz
- Vanilla Pod 1 piece
- Gelatin 3 pieces
- Sugar 5 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients.
Step 2
Soak the gelatin in cold water and let it sit for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Scrape the seeds from the vanilla pod.
Step 4
Add the seeds and pod to the saucepan.
Step 5
Pour in the cream, add sugar, and bring the mixture to a boil. Remove from heat.
Step 6
Gently squeeze the water out of the softened gelatin and add it to the hot cream.
Step 7
Mix well until the gelatin is completely dissolved.
Step 8
Strain the cream through a sieve to remove the pod and any possible gelatin lumps.
Step 9
Pour into greased molds.
Step 10
Refrigerate until set.
