Panforte with Fruits and Nuts
Ingredients
- Chopped almonds 5 oz
- Hazelnut 5 oz
- Dried ground orange peel 10 oz
- Wheat Flour ¾ cup
- Cocoa Powder ¼ cup
- Ground Cinnamon 1¼ teaspoons
- Spices ½ teaspoon
- Vanilla extract ½ teaspoon
- Honey 5 tablespoons
- Sugar ½ cup
- Powdered Sugar ¼ cup
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Line a round baking pan with parchment paper and grease it with butter. Preheat the oven to 300°F.
Step 2
In a large bowl, mix all the ingredients except for the honey, sugar, and powdered sugar.
Step 3
In a small saucepan, add honey and 0.3 cups of sugar and heat until fully dissolved. Reduce the heat and warm to 230°F, which will take about 4 minutes.
Step 4
Remove the saucepan from the heat and mix with the nut mixture. Spread into the prepared pan, flatten, and press down slightly. Bake for about 35 minutes. Cool and dust with powdered sugar.
