Ingredients
- Hazelnut 5 oz
- Chopped almonds 5 oz
- Dried ground orange peel 5 oz
- Canned Pineapple Chunks 5 oz
- Citrus Zest Mix 4 tablespoons
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Ground Cinnamon 1 teaspoon
- Ground coriander ¼ teaspoon
- Ground clove ¼ teaspoon
- Nutmeg ¼ teaspoon
- White Pepper (whole) a pinch
- Sugar 5 oz
- Honey 4 tablespoons
- Butter 0 oz
- Powdered Sugar to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Line a 20 cm long baking pan with parchment paper and grease it with butter.
Step 2
Toast the nuts on a grill or dry skillet until golden. Let cool. Place the nuts in a bowl with the candied peel, diced pineapple, lemon zest, flour, and spices. Mix well. Preheat the oven to 300°F.
Step 3
In a saucepan, combine sugar, honey, and butter. Melt and bring the syrup to 245°F, or until a drop of syrup in cold water hardens immediately.
Step 4
Pour the syrup over the nut mixture and mix well. Do this quickly to prevent the syrup from hardening. Spread the mixture onto a baking sheet, flatten it, and bake for 35 minutes.
Step 5
Cool on the baking sheet, remove the paper, and cut into small strips. Dust with powdered sugar.
