Original Yogurt Cookies
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 2 cups
- Baking Powder 2 tablespoons
- Fat 5 tablespoons
- Salt ½ tablespoon
- Yogurt 6 tablespoons
- Vegetable Oil 1 teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 220°C (428°F).
Step 2
Grease a 19x19 cm (7.5x7.5 in) baking dish with fat.
Step 3
Mix the dry ingredients together.
Step 4
Incorporate the vegetable fat (I use an electric mixer on low speed for about a minute).
Step 5
Gently fold in the yogurt mixture until a dough forms that sticks to your hands (do not overwork the dough).
Step 6
Transfer the dough to a floured surface.
Step 7
Sprinkle flour on top and gently press the dough down with your hands to about ½ inch thickness.
Step 8
Cut into circles 8-10 cm (3-4 in) in diameter.
Step 9
Place in the baking dish.
Step 10
Brush with cooking fat.
Step 11
Bake for 15 minutes.
Step 12
Remove from the dish 5 minutes after taking it out of the oven.
Step 13
Cover with a kitchen towel and serve.
