Ingredients

  • Cottage cheese 15 oz
  • Wheat Flour 10 oz
  • Chicken Egg 1 piece
  • Sour Cream 1⅒ cans
  • Sugar 2 tablespoons
  • Oranges ½ piece
  • Vanilla salt to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Grate the zest from half an orange and squeeze out 2 tablespoons of juice.

Step 2

In a deep bowl (or better in a food processor), mix the cottage cheese, sugar, egg, sour cream (2 tablespoons), zest, and orange juice. Gradually add the flour and knead a soft dough.

Step 3

You can roll the dough into balls or divide it into logs and cut out round pieces for the syrniki.

Step 4

Flatten them into patties using a fork.

Step 5

Place them in a preheated skillet with vegetable oil and fry until golden brown over medium heat.

Step 6

For the sauce, cut two round slices from the orange and finely chop them along with the peel. Then blend with sugar and mix with the remaining sour cream. Add the zest from the remaining orange.
