Orange Sorbet with Vodka and Basil
Ingredients
- Sugar 8 tablespoons
- Oranges 4 pieces
- Yogurt powder 20 oz
- Vodka 4 tablespoons
- Fresh basil leaves 10 leaves
- Beans 1 piece
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cut the tops off the oranges about a quarter of the way down. Grate the zest from the tops. Scoop out the orange pulp into a bowl. Cut a thin slice off the bottom of the empty orange peels to make them more stable, and place them in the freezer.
Step 2
Transfer the orange pulp to a sieve and mash with a ladle to extract as much juice as possible. Pour the juice into a saucepan and add the grated zest from the tops. Bring the juice to a boil in the saucepan until it reduces to 125 milliliters. Add the sugar and let it cool slightly. Add the vodka and yogurt.
Step 3
Transfer to a food processor and add the basil leaves and chopped banana. Blend until smooth. Freeze until the mixture holds its shape, then spoon it into the orange peels.
