Orange Sherbet with Candied Peel
Ingredients
- Orange juice concentrate 5 qt
- Meyer Lemon Juice 0 fl oz
- Vanilla salt 0 oz
- Egg white 2 pieces
- Grand Marnier Liqueur 1 tablespoon
- Sugar 0 oz
- Oranges 2 pieces
- Dried ground orange peel 0 oz
- Water 5 fl oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Whip the egg whites until stiff peaks form.
Step 2
Mix all the ingredients and add the whipped egg whites at the end.
Step 3
Place in the freezer for 30 minutes.
Step 4
Then blend the mixture in a blender.
Step 5
Wash and peel the oranges, cutting the zest very thinly and then slicing it into thin strips.
Step 6
Place the zest in a pot, cover with water, and boil for 1 hour. Drain. In the pot, mix sugar with water and make a syrup over low heat.
Step 7
Add the orange zest and cook for 10 minutes to candy the zest. Allow to cool and serve with the sherbet.
