Description

Orange pudding with Angostura

Ingredients

  • Oranges 4 pieces
  • Fine white sugar 10 oz
  • Butter 10 oz
  • Chicken Egg 4 pieces
  • Wheat Flour 10 oz
  • Orange bitters 1 tablespoon
  • Salt to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Grate the zest and, along with the juice squeezed from the oranges, heat in a skillet over low heat. When the liquid has reduced by two-thirds, remove from the heat and allow the mixture to cool.

Step 2

In a bowl, beat the softened butter with sugar until light and creamy. Add the eggs and mix well. In a separate bowl, combine the flour with salt and gradually fold it into the creamy mixture. Pour in the orange juice with zest, add a teaspoon of Angostura bitters, and mix again.

Step 3

Pour the batter into a cake pan greased with butter or vegetable oil (or distribute it among small muffin molds, the batter is enough for about ten pieces) and bake in a preheated oven at 330°F for one hour, until golden brown.
