Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Select 12 beautiful halves of the nuts for decoration; crush the remaining nuts with the flat side of a knife and chop them finely or grind them in a mortar.

Step 2

Grate the orange zest using a fine grater and squeeze out the juice.

Step 3

In a small saucepan, combine the butter with the sugar and place over low heat. Add the orange juice and heat until the sugar is fully dissolved.

Step 4

Break the chocolate into small pieces by hand; mix the flour with the baking powder, add the chopped nuts, chocolate, orange zest, eggs, season with salt, and combine everything well.

Step 5

Pour the melted butter mixed with sugar into the flour with nuts and chocolate, and mix everything together.

Step 6

Line a small deep baking tray with parchment paper, grease it with the remaining butter, spread the dough evenly, and top it with halved walnuts. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F for 20 minutes.

Cut into serving pieces and serve.
