Ingredients

  • Butter 5 oz
  • Shortcrust Cake Mix 20 oz
  • Wheat Flour 3 tablespoons
  • Water 0 fl oz
  • Sugar 5 oz
  • Brown Sugar 5 oz
  • Green Apples 8 pieces

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Peel the apples and remove the cores, then slice them thinly.

Step 2

Preheat the oven to 430°F.

Step 3

Melt the butter in a saucepan and add the flour, mixing until a smooth paste forms. Then add the water and both sugars, bringing to a boil. Reduce the heat and let it simmer on very low heat.

Step 4

Roll out the pastry to fit the diameter of the baking dish and place it in, pressing down lightly. Arrange the apples in a circle on top, slightly overlapping, and drizzle with the sauce.

Step 5

Bake for about 15 minutes, then reduce the temperature to 345°F and bake for another 35–45 minutes until the pastry is cooked and the apples are soft.
