Description
Onion Pie
Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Butter 5 oz
- Chocolate eggs 4 pieces
- Hard Cheese 5 oz
- Onion 0 lbs
- Sour Cream 5 oz
- Corn Starch 1 tablespoon
- Sugar 1 tablespoon
- Salt 1 teaspoon
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Prepare all the ingredients.
Step 2
Sift the flour.
Step 3
Grate the cheese on a fine grater.
Step 4
Melt 100 grams of butter in the microwave.
Step 5
In a large bowl, mix the melted butter, grated cheese, sifted flour, and egg to knead a soft dough. If the egg is small and the dough is too dry, add 1 tablespoon of cold water.
Step 6
Spread the dough by hand in a 26 cm diameter pie dish, create edges, and place the dish with the dough in the refrigerator.
Step 7
Slice the peeled onion into quarter rings.
Step 8
In a large skillet, melt 50 grams of butter, add all the onion, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, and 1 tablespoon of sugar, mix well, cover with a lid, and simmer the onion, stirring, for about 15 minutes. At the end, remove the lid to allow the moisture to evaporate.
Step 9
Transfer the onion from the skillet to another container to cool.
Step 10
In a bowl, mix the sour cream and cornstarch until there are no lumps, add 3 eggs, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, and black pepper to taste, and mix thoroughly.
Step 11
Add the cooled onion and mix again thoroughly.
Step 12
Pour the filling into the dish, smooth the top carefully, and place the pie in the oven. Bake for the first 40 minutes at 355°F, top-bottom mode, then reduce the temperature to 170–320°F and bake for another 25–30 minutes. If the top starts to burn, cover the pie with foil.
Step 13
Let it cool slightly in the dish, then slice while warm.
