Onion Flatbread
Ingredients
- Olive Oil 2½ tablespoons
- Salt to taste
- Sugar 1 teaspoon
- Dry yeast 1 teaspoon
- Wheat Flour 1 cup
- Water ½ cup
- Lemon-Pepper Mix 1 teaspoon
- Sour Cream 2 tablespoons
- Herbes de Provence 1 teaspoon
- Onion 1 head
- Cheese Spread 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a tall glass, mix water, yeast, sugar, and 1 teaspoon of flour. Leave in a warm place for 10 minutes.
Step 2
In a bowl, mix flour, 2 tablespoons of olive oil, the yeast mixture, and salt. Knead the dough. There’s no need to knead for a long time; just mix well with a fork until the dough is sticky and seems a bit liquid. Cover with a towel and leave in a warm place for 30–40 minutes.
Step 3
Then place the dough on a silicone mat, sprinkle with flour, and roll out to a thickness of 0.5 cm. Spread sour cream on top, sprinkle with grated cheese, herbs de Provence, and place onion rings. Brush each ring with olive oil and sprinkle with salt. Finally, sprinkle everything with the pepper mix.
Step 4
The oven should be preheated to 480°F. Place the flatbread in it. Bake until golden brown. This will take about 15 minutes.
