Onion Bread

Ingredients

  • Onion 3 pieces
  • Chicken Egg 1 piece
  • Vegetable Oil 3 spoons
  • Milk 1 glass
  • Wheat Flour 3 glasses
  • Dry yeast 0 oz
  • Sour Cream 2 spoons
  • Unrefined Sunflower Oil 0 fl oz
  • Sugar 1 tablespoon
  • Salt 1 tablespoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In a large bowl, combine warm milk, salt, and sugar. Add the yeast and 1 tablespoon of flour. Stir until completely dissolved. Cover the bowl with a towel and place it in a warm spot for half an hour.

Step 2

Dice the peeled onion. Sauté in vegetable oil until golden brown for 5–7 minutes. Add salt and sugar.

Step 3

Add the onion, egg, sour cream, and half of the sunflower oil to the starter.

Step 4

Gently add the sifted flour to the starter and knead the dough. At the end of kneading, add 1 tablespoon of the remaining sunflower oil. Let the dough rest for another half hour.

Step 5

After half an hour, knead the dough and let it rise for another 15 to 20 minutes.

Step 6

Knead the dough again and shape it into a ball. Place the ball on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Cover it with a kitchen towel and let it rest for 15 minutes. Shape the dough into a round loaf.

Step 7

Brush the surface of the bread with slightly warmed sunflower oil and make 4 slashes on the bread. Place it in a preheated oven at 390°F for half an hour.

Step 8

Remove the bread from the oven, cover it with a towel, and allow it to cool for an hour.
