Description

“The fruits of okra are four- or eight-sided pods that taper at the top. They resemble the pods of bitter pepper in appearance. The pods can be long or short, narrow or wide. In Armenia, okra primarily grows with relatively short pods. Inside the fruit are seeds that look like small peas. Okra is used as a seasoning for meat dishes and soups in combination with other vegetables, as well as in boiled and fried forms. Most often, young fruits (buds) are used.”
