Description

Whole grain flour is healthier than white all-purpose flour. Instead of vanillin, you can use ground vanilla bean. Brown sugar is healthier than white sugar and has a more caramel-like flavor. To achieve an authentic American cookie, do not bake it for more than 10 minutes.

Ingredients

  • Butter 5 oz
  • Brown Sugar 5 oz
  • Egg white 1 piece
  • Vanillin 1 teaspoon
  • Baking Powder ½ teaspoon
  • Dried cranberries with sugar 5 oz
  • Salt ½ teaspoon
  • Whole Grain Bun 5 oz
  • Activated Baking Soda ¼ teaspoon
  • Ground Oats 0 oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 355°F.

Step 2

Prepare the butter at room temperature. Beat it with the egg, sugar, and vanillin in a mixer or blender until a smooth soft mixture forms.

Step 3

In a separate bowl, mix the flour, oats, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Step 4

Add the mixture to the butter with the other ingredients and mix thoroughly.

Step 5

Add the cranberries to the prepared dough and gently stir to avoid damaging the berries.

Step 6

Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Scoop out portions of the cookie dough with a spoon or by hand to your desired size. It is not necessary to shape the cookies into rounds, as the dough will naturally form cookie shapes while baking.

Step 7

Place in the preheated oven for about 10–20 minutes, depending on your oven. If baked for up to 30 minutes, the cookies will be crunchier.
