Nut Cake with Raisins
Baking and Desserts • World
Description
Very delicious with cold milk.
Ingredients
- Butter 5 oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Wheat Flour 5 oz
- Raisins 0 oz
- Chocolate eggs 2 pieces
- Nuts 0 oz
- Red Grape Juice ½ cup
- Vanilla salt 1 tablespoon
- Powdered Sugar 2 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Rinse the raisins and soak them in wine for two to three hours. If you like very juicy raisins, leave them overnight, but I prefer them with a subtle flavor and aroma.
Step 2
Chop the nuts into crumbs/powder using a grater or blender. In a bowl, mix the butter and sugar, and beat for about five minutes until you get a fluffy light mass. Add the eggs and beat again until smooth 'cream' is achieved.
Step 3
Add the nuts and vanilla sugar, mix well, and gradually sift in the flour – it should result in a soft thick dough. Add the raisins and mix thoroughly with a wooden spoon.
Step 4
Line the baking pan with parchment paper, greased with butter and dusted with flour. Pour the batter into it and smooth the top, then place the future cake in an oven preheated to 320°F for one to one and a half hours. It should rise well and have a characteristic crack on top. Turn off the oven and leave it for another fifteen minutes (I do this to prevent it from collapsing suddenly). Let it cool slightly, sprinkle with powdered sugar, and watch how in half an hour, nothing remains of it.
