Description

In this recipe, you can omit the bran and whole wheat flour if you want to make white bread. Just use 7.5 cups of all-purpose flour. Feel free to experiment with add-ins. Check the bread's readiness with a matchstick or toothpick; it should come out dry and clean.

Ingredients

  • Kefir 25 fl oz
  • Wheat Flour 5 cups
  • Wheat Flour 2 cups
  • Bran 5 oz
  • Salt 1½ teaspoons
  • Sugar 1½ teaspoons
  • Activated Baking Soda 1 teaspoon
  • Chopped almonds 5 oz
  • Olive Oil 0 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 390°F.

Step 2

In a bowl, mix all the dry ingredients (except for the nuts) and add to the kefir.

Step 3

Thoroughly mix with a spoon and add the nuts.

Step 4

Continue kneading the dough by hand. The dough will be thick and slightly sticky.

Step 5

Thoroughly grease the baking paper with olive oil.

Step 6

Shape the dough into a round loaf, make cuts on top with a sharp knife, and sprinkle with flour.

Step 7

Place the bread in the oven and bake for 50 minutes.
