Ingredients
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Sugar 5 oz
- Butter 5 oz
- Farm fresh eggs 5 pieces
- Salt to taste
- Sparkling water 5 fl oz
- Rum 3 tablespoons
- Dry yeast 0 oz
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Dissolve the yeast in a small amount of warm water, add 50 g of flour, and let it sit for 30 minutes. To the risen mixture, add the remaining flour, salt, and eggs. Mix thoroughly. Then add 30 g of sugar and melted butter to prepare the dough.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 355°F.
Step 3
Place the dough in a greased and floured mold and let it rise in a warm place until it doubles in size.
Step 4
Bake for about 40 minutes.
Step 5
Soak the finished cake with rum syrup. To prepare it, bring water and sugar to a boil, slightly cool, and mix with the rum.
