Description

Watch the process of making the layers carefully!

Ingredients

  • Butter 15 oz
  • Water 5 fl oz
  • Farm fresh eggs 2 pieces
  • Wheat Flour 25 oz
  • Vodka 3 tablespoons
  • Salt a pinch
  • Condensed Milk 2 cans
  • 9% Vinegar 1 tablespoon

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Pour 150 ml of cold water into a bowl, add 1 tablespoon of vinegar and 2–3 tablespoons of vodka (or cognac). Mix everything.

Step 2

In a clean bowl, crack the eggs, add a pinch of salt, and whisk.

Step 3

Pour the water with vinegar and vodka into the eggs, and beat until smooth.

Step 4

Pour 600 grams of flour onto a board and place the diced butter on top. Chop the flour with the butter into fine crumbs using a knife.

Step 5

Form a mound from the resulting crumbs. Pour the egg mixture into the center of the mound.

Step 6

Knead the dough.

Step 7

Divide the dough into equal parts and roll them into balls (about 10 pieces).

Step 8

Cover the dough balls with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1.5 hours.

Step 9

Baking. Preheat the oven to 220–445°F.

Step 10

Dust the back of a baking sheet with flour and roll out a ball into a thin layer.

Step 11

Take a plate or lid of the required diameter (approximately 20–23 cm) and cut out a circle. Do not remove the scraps. Prick the layer with a fork (the more often, the more even the layer will be).

Step 12

Place in the oven for 8–10 minutes. Once baked, separate the layer from the scraps and place it on a flat surface.

Step 13

When all layers are ready, the scraps need to be crushed by any available means.

Step 14

Assembling the cake. Line a mold (slightly larger than the layers) with foil. Place a layer at the bottom and spread it with condensed milk.

Step 15

Repeat the same with the remaining layers.

Step 16

When everything is ready, cover the mold with a lid and refrigerate for 12 hours to soak.

Step 17

Serving. Before serving, spread the layers with the remaining condensed milk and sprinkle the sides and top with crushed scraps.
