Mushroom and Onion Strudel
Ingredients
- Puff Pastry 5 oz
- Pickled Chanterelles 20 oz
- Onion 1 head
- Garlic 2 cloves
- Chocolate eggs 2 pieces
- Salt to taste
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Butter 1 teaspoon
- Vegetable Oil ½ teaspoon
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Thaw the pastry at room temperature.
Step 2
Dice the onion and sauté in butter until soft. Slice the mushrooms thinly, add to the onion, and cook until done.
Step 3
Boil the eggs, cool, peel, and chop. Mince the garlic. Add the eggs and garlic to the mushroom mixture. Season the filling with salt and pepper. Let cool.
Step 4
Preheat the oven to 390°F. Grease a baking sheet with vegetable oil, and lay out the pastry sheet. Place the mushroom filling on one edge and fold it over (the sheet should not be too wide. If the purchased pastry is square, it's better to cut it in half and make two smaller strudels).
Step 5
Bake for 30 minutes.
