Ingredients
- Sugar 10 oz
- Water 5 fl oz
- Citric Acid 0 oz
- Activated Baking Soda 1½ g

Step 1
Boil the water in a pot, as it needs to be hot for the recipe. Dissolve the sugar in it, stirring constantly, and bring to a boil.
Step 2
Then add citric acid to the syrup, cover the pot with a lid, and simmer on low heat for 45 minutes. Let the finished syrup cool slightly.
Step 3
Add a little water to the baking soda, mix it, then transfer the mixture to the cooled liquid and mix everything again.
Step 4
The mixture will start to foam significantly; let it sit for 10-15 minutes. Once the foaming stops, your molasses is ready to use. If there is a little foam left on the surface, simply remove it with a spoon. The finished syrup can be stored in a glass container in the refrigerator.
