Description

Mochi is a traditional Japanese rice cake made from glutinous rice. It has a chewy texture and can be enjoyed in various ways, such as filled with sweet red bean paste or served with ice cream. This delightful treat is often enjoyed during celebrations and is a popular snack in many cultures. The process of making mochi involves steaming the rice and then pounding it until it becomes a smooth, elastic dough.

Ingredients

  • Glutinous Rice Flour 10 oz
  • Water 5 fl oz
  • Sugar 5 oz
  • Vinegar essence 0 fl oz
  • Chocolate 5 oz
  • Grapefruits to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Take a medium-sized bowl, add the flour and sugar, and pour in the water. Mix until you achieve a smooth consistency. Now add a couple of drops of vinegar. This is done to make the dough very soft and airy. (If you are preparing a treat for a child, add a bit of food coloring; this will make your balls colorful and fun.)

Step 2

Next, shape the prepared dough into balls, flatten them into discs, place the filling in the center, and then reshape them into balls again.

Step 3

Final step. Place the balls in the microwave, cover with plastic wrap, and heat for four to five minutes. Then allow to cool completely before serving.
