Description

This ice cream can be stored in the freezer for 3–4 days without losing its flavor — feel free to make 8 servings at once.

Ingredients

  • 10% cream 5 fl oz
  • Vanilla Pod 1 piece
  • Egg white 1 piece
  • Powdered Sugar 5 oz
  • Fresh Mint 0 oz
  • Bittersweet Chocolate 5 oz
  • Milk 15 fl oz

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

Combine the milk and cream in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Split the vanilla pod in half and add it to the milk mixture. Let it cool to room temperature and refrigerate for 20 minutes.

Step 2

Whip the egg white — once stiff peaks form, add the powdered sugar and continue whipping until the sugar dissolves.

Step 3

Chop the mint leaves. Remove the vanilla from the chilled milk mixture. Add the milk mixture to the egg white with sugar and whip for another 20 seconds. Stir in the mint, mix well, and let it sit for 30 minutes.

Step 4

Place the mixture in a shallow dish and freeze for 3 hours.

Step 5

Chop the chocolate, take out the ice cream, whip it with a mixer, add the chocolate pieces, mix, and freeze for another 4 hours. Serve in ceramic cups or dessert bowls.
