Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Beat the softened butter with sugar and vanilla (vanilla sugar or extract works well).

Add sour cream and milk (cream can also be used) to the butter and beat again.

Weigh the flour, mix it in a separate bowl with a pinch of salt, baking powder, and baking soda.

Add the flour to the butter-milk mixture, then add the chopped chocolate (for those who enjoy unique combinations, consider adding something tart like dried apricots or cranberries), and mix until a soft, homogeneous dough forms.
Step 5
Preheat the oven to 355°F. Roll small balls of dough, about the size of a walnut, place them on a baking sheet spaced 5 cm apart, and flatten each with your fingers. Bake for about 10 minutes, until lightly golden.
