Meat and Potato Pie
Ingredients
- Chicken Egg 1 piece
- Butter 5 oz
- Baking Powder ½ teaspoon
- Salt ½ teaspoon
- Wheat Flour 2 cups
- Sour Cream 1 jar
- Lamb ½ kg
- Onion 2 heads
- Potato 1 piece
- Ground Black Pepper to taste
- Herbs to taste
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a bowl, mix melted butter, sour cream, egg, salt, and baking powder.
Step 2
Gradually add flour and knead a soft, elastic dough. The amount of flour depends significantly on its quality.
Step 3
Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and let it rest.
Step 4
For the filling, chop the meat, onion, and potato into small cubes, mix, season with salt and pepper, and add any finely chopped herbs. I used thyme.
Step 5
Divide the dough into two portions — one should be slightly larger.
Step 6
Roll both portions of dough into circles about 6 mm thick, dusting the surface with flour.
Step 7
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and place the larger circle of dough on it, evenly distributing the filling on top.
Step 8
Cover with the second circle of dough and pinch the edges to seal.
Step 9
Brush the surface with an egg mixed with a couple of tablespoons of water and prick it frequently with a fork. Bake in a preheated oven at 375°F until fully browned.
