Low-Calorie Strudel with Cottage Cheese, Apples, and Cherries

Ingredients

  • Wheat Flour 5 oz
  • Cream 1 teaspoon
  • Cottage cheese 5 oz
  • Egg white 2 pieces
  • Marinated cherries 5 oz
  • Pickled Apples 2 pieces
  • Red Grape Juice 0 fl oz
  • Rum Flavoring to taste
  • Vanillin to taste
  • Sugar Substitute 8 pieces
  • Powdered Sugar to taste

Step-by-Step Guide

Step 1

In one bowl, mix the cottage cheese, flour, and yolks. Knead the dough and refrigerate it for 1–2 hours.

Step 2

Remove the pits from the cherries. If using frozen cherries, thaw them first and let the juice drain.

Step 3

Peel the apples and cut them into cubes about 0.7 cm. In a preheated skillet, add the apples and sauté for 5–7 minutes over medium heat. After this time, add the wine or champagne. Simmer until the liquid evaporates over low heat.

Step 4

Combine the cooled apples with the cherries. Add the flavoring, vanillin, and crushed sugar substitute to the filling.

Step 5

Roll out the dough on parchment paper greased with oil. Place the filling inside and roll it up. Pinch the edges. Place in a preheated oven at 355°F for 25–30 minutes.

Step 6

The finished roll can be brushed with cherry juice. Dust with powdered sugar.
