Description
Lorraine Cherry Pie
Ingredients
- Egg white 4 pieces
- Cherry 20 oz
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Cottage cheese 10 oz
- Cherries in Liqueur 1 tablespoon
- Sugar Glaze 5 oz
- Butter 0 oz
- Dry yeast 0 oz
- Salt a pinch
- Vegetable Oil 2 tablespoons
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Beat the powdered sugar with the yolks until a homogeneous frothy mass forms. While continuing to beat, add the vegetable oil.
Step 2
In another bowl, beat the cottage cheese (if it is too dry, add some sour cream) and combine it with the egg-sugar mixture.
Step 3
Mix the flour and the yeast dissolved in milk, then add it to the egg-cottage cheese mixture, stirring vigorously. Pour in the cherry liqueur. Gently fold the beaten egg whites into the batter.
Step 4
Grease a baking dish with butter and place the rolled-out dough into it.
Step 5
Arrange the cherries on the dough; gently shake the dish so that the berries sink slightly into the dough (during baking, the dough will rise and almost completely cover the berries).
Step 6
Bake the pie in an oven preheated to 355°F for one hour.
Step 7
Once out of the oven, immediately remove the pie from the dish and let it cool. Serve warm or cold.
