Lingonberry Pie
Ingredients
- Egg white 3 pieces
- Wheat Flour 2 cups
- Butter 5 oz
- Sugar 1½ cups
- Lingonberry 2 cups
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Cut the butter into small pieces.
Step 2
Separate the egg yolks from the whites. Whisk the yolks with 1 cup of sugar, mix with the butter. Stir everything well.
Step 3
Gradually add the flour to the mixture, knead the dough.
Step 4
Grease the baking dish with butter, spread the dough evenly on the bottom, and form the edges. Bake in a preheated oven at 390°F until lightly golden (about 10–15 minutes).
Step 5
Prepare the filling: wash the lingonberries in a colander and let the water drain. Whisk the egg whites with the remaining (0.5 cups) sugar until stiff, glossy peaks form.
Step 6
Mix 2/3 of the egg white mixture with the lingonberries and spread it over the crust. Top with the remaining egg white.
Step 7
Reduce the oven temperature to 210°F and bake until the egg white is golden (about 25–30 minutes). Without removing from the oven, let it cool.
