Lemon Zest and Poppy Seed Cake
Ingredients
- Sour Cream 5 oz
- Butter 5 oz
- Wheat Flour 10 oz
- Poppy seed paste 3 tablespoons
- Activated Baking Soda 1½ teaspoons
- Farm fresh eggs 4 pieces
- Sugar 10 oz
- Salt a pinch
- Lemon 3 pieces
Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
Preheat the oven to 355°F.
Step 2
In the first bowl, mix the flour, poppy seeds, salt, and baking soda. In the second bowl, cream the sugar with the butter and add the eggs.
Step 3
Meanwhile, zest 2 lemons and juice 3 lemons.
Step 4
Add the mixture from the first bowl to the second bowl. Then add the sour cream, zest, and lemon juice. Mix everything together and pour into a baking pan.
Step 5
Place in the oven and bake for 45–50 minutes.
