Step-by-Step Guide
Step 1
In a small bowl, mix together the sugar and lemon zest. Beat the room temperature eggs (typically, eggs need about half an hour outside the refrigerator to reach the right temperature) with a mixer or whisk until smooth. Add the flour, milk, vanilla sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt, and continue to beat until well combined.
Step 2
Preheat the oven to 390°F, melt the butter in a baking dish, pour the batter into the dish, and place it in the oven for twenty-five minutes. Serve, brushed with a mixture of sugar and lemon zest.
